Hello All,
I have talked with several of our FFL Alumni families this past week...just wanted to update everyone on their progress.
For those of you who had the pleasure of meeting Elton John (lovely solid black DSH, green eyes), you know what a remarkably social and trusting cat he is! Our 'trustee' kitty, as Lisa liked to call him, was so trustworthy that we could allow him to be out of his cage in the adoption center and he wouldn't leave the room!
He was usually just happy to meet and greet everyone who walked through the door. We couldn't understand why he hadn't been adopted yet! Everyone who met him commented on how wonderful he was.
We all loved Elton and I miss him still! He was an excellent helper with the paperwork. (And he looks like one of my cats!)
I spoke with his mom the other day and she reports that he is doing fantastic. She absolutely adores him. And Elton (she kept his name!) adores her other kitty, Giovanni.
Another happy ending is Miss Fur-Ball. She is a little chow mix who was in not one, but two foster homes while awaiting her forever family. After being fostered by the second family for several weeks, they decided that she was perfect for their home and their dogs and decided to adopt her.
I saw her the other day, looking fantastic as always in her pink harness. Her new dad reports harmony among all the dogs. They love her very much and say they know they made the right choice to adopt her! What a great life she has now with a doggie sister and brother and a great set of parents. She is affectionately known as Missy.
I am also happy to report Rita one of our more recent adoptions is doing fantastic in her new home. I spoke with her mom today and she said Rita is one of the best dogs she has ever had! She reports Rita is very sweet and loves to play. She is still a young dog and mom is going to enroll her in doggie training so she can prefect her manners. Her mom and dad are total ‘dog people’ and they couldn’t have picked a sweeter girl! Yay for Rita! (Who coincidentally looks like a larger version of Miss Fur-Ball).
Last bit of news to report is our adoptions from last week. A very sweet couple adopted Carmen & Cratchett, two of Claudia’s babies.
Claudia is the last of our Katrina rescue animals. She is a Siamese/Tabby mix who had her (gorgeous) babies in the evacuation shelter. They were almost a week old when Salise and Debra brought them back from Pass Christian, MS.
They were being cared for in a foster home while the babies were nursing. Claudia and her other two kittens, Colleen & Calvin are still available for adoption. They are very sweet cats. You should come meet them and all their friends soon.
Don’t forget to come get your animals their Santa photos!
Happy December!
