Lewis is our top candidate for a second chance! He has spent a lot of his life chained up, yet remains sweet, friendly, and very likeable. Abandoned at the back of a building on a cold, rainy day, Lewis had a chain with a heavy wire attached to a very old thick, dirty collar and was chained to a post. Lewis was thrilled when his rescuers arrived!
Tell me about Lewis: Lewis is totally agreeable! He likes attention, and has been very cooperative throughout his examinations, where he has been poked and prodded. Lewis has wagged his tail in a friendly manner when seeing other dogs.
What else can you tell me? Lewis may be house trained, as he has not soiled his kennel. Lewis is a strong dog, however; when walking on a leash, he only pulls the slightest bit.
Lewis shows the physical signs of a hard life lived mostly outdoors, lots of a callouses, scrapes and scars but he remains a friendly dog waiting for a second chance. There may be more to learn about Lewis and whether he knows the basic commands, and what his favorite things are. Lewis is an all-around great dog that is ready to transition into his new life with you! He wouldn’t mind having a nice fluffy bed, but more than that—he just wants to love you and be loved for the wonderful dog he is!
